With a little common sense (which Congress seldom has I think) I have got the answer to securing our borders. By stopping useless and non urgent earmarks for research programs and the like in bills the government approves every year, we could build the Great Wall of China along our borders. And with todays construction technology, probably do it much cheaper and faster. Here are a couple of examples of these
wasteful items:

$26,000 to study how thoroughly Americans rinse their dishes

$750,000 A horse trail in High Knob, VA

$1,000,000 Build bike and pedestrian path

$500,000 to paint a salmon on a plane

Some of these earmarks (pork some call it) are laughable and the fools in Congress are passing the bills. Maybe they should try reading the bills before voting, hmmm.. novel idea. It looks to me like Congress has no excuse for not securing our borders if a simple middle class American like me can figure this out.
